Ubuntu Studio 7.10: base install problem

I am trying to install the latest Ubuntu Studio on a HP ze5635 laptop. Everything was fine until I came to installing the base system, at which the computer told me a whole load things could not be downloaded. I switched it off and tried to start again, but I get the message 'Error loading operating system'.

How do I solve this problem?

Sounds like you're trying to do some sort of "net-install" without a connection to the "net".
Or...you failed to setup a mirror as a necessary repository providing the "base" packages.

Hello,

Thank you for the advice. I think however, it may be best to install and run Ubuntu Studio off a separate HDD. Do you think it would be easier to do this?
