ubuntu port forwarding


hey ive just got a new router and ubuntu running on one of my PC's which is amazing OS.

but gaim messenger and loads of stuff in ubuntu is blocked i think my router is blockin it with the built in firewall

can someone tell me which ports need to open ?

the info it says i need r the..

Yeah, it's most likely a problem with the router.
In order to get the port numbers, in gAIM, go to Accounts->Other Options and you should see the port numbers that the program is using. Open those up on your router, and you should be A-O-Good!
