Download and install this http://www.lwfinger.com/b43-firmware...00.138.tar.bz2
Then
Code:
export FIRMWARE_INSTALL_DIR="/lib/firmware"
sudo b43-fwcutter -w "$FIRMWARE_INSTALL_DIR" broadcom-wl-5.100.138/linux/wl_apsta.o
Code:
modprobe -r b43 bcma wl brcmsmac
Code:
modprobe b43

If youre interested, AntiX which is debian based has the correct firmware for mine already installed you may want to just install AntiX instead of ubuntu?
How do I install AntiX?

I'm sorry for asking a stupid question, but I don't know how to install a .tar.bz2 file. When I extract the files, what is the next step to installing them?

Follow the next step with the export command.
And then point the sudo b43-fwcutter command to wherever you extracted the file at.
So
Code:
sudo b43-fwcutter -w "$FIRMWARE_INSTALL_DIR" /home/Downloads/broadcom-wl-5.100.138/linux/wl_apsta.o
For example.

Is there a 32 bit version of AntiX?

Tem2 perhaps not a 32bit antix...sorry havent read your whole thread
1nuxg33k seems to know alot about this Id follow his lead
otherwise- just find a live distro that does work and go with that...mx linux is closely related to antix so may work...
I have arcolinux and slackware 14.2 working wireless in mine with slack though its complicated
I noticed also antix site is having issues...that sucks

This is too convoluted without being on the Internet. Tomorrow I'll figure out a way to get an ethernet connection. But thanks for the help!

Just in case anybody cares, I was able to run Ubuntu 12.04. I really didn't like Anti-X, so I tested Ubuntus til I got one to work.

Thanks for all the help!
