Its not a matter of whether XFCE would run or not. Its just how well. Blackbox or Fluxbox are as resource lax as it gets.

I have used Flux and Blackbox, but I really dislike them both. XFCE is the first lightweight WM I have tried and liked. Can the installer actually run on 32MB RAM though? I think it said it needs 36, but would 32 work anyways?

Maybe. It depends on whether or not they have a failsafe built in to prevent it.

I am trying my Qemu install again with 32MB RAM (my last one got screwed up--not its fault, mine) to see what happens. I think that a Qemu with 32MB RAM running on a P4 2.8 should somewhat simulate a G3 300 with 32MB RAM. We'll see what happens now.
