ubuntu and KDE

How do I know if the desktop on my system is KDE or Gnome?

I think I have Gnome but not sure. If it's Gnome how do I get KDE to be the default?

thanks,
tbrownarcher (nate)

Something in the menus will make it obvious--eg "help" or "about". If you haven't customized anything, then Ubuntu = Gnome and Kubuntu = KDE.

You can install Kubuntu, or you can simply get KDE using the package manager. Once KDE is installed, then you will have the option of which one to use when you log in.
