Unhappy ubuntu 8.10


im trying to set up ubuntu i have two harddrives 1 with xp the 2nd 1 is for storage i downdloaded ubuntu on 2nd harddrive im trying to install it i think it took sys had to reboot typed in boot it read error 8 kernel must be loaded before booting im new at and im lost can't do live cd

File or iso?

Did you burn the file or the iso image to the cd/dvd. to check just insert the cd/dvd and see how many files are on it.

hey thanks for your help i burn the iso on cd did full install but i have two ? one is i have two hdd one with xp and now the other ubuntu 8.10 how can u switch from one to the other i tried one master one slave didn't work.and the other is remember im new at this i can't get no software to run from my cds i have a usb wireless i run on xp but i need to install the drivers for it in ubuntu i done ask once here i tried no go. sorry if those are stupid ?

For your WiFi try this search engine to solve it. ie model, make, ect.
