Question Ubuntu 7.10 wireless problem with M2N32-SLI DELUXE WIRELESS EDITION

Hello i'm completely new to this type of OS. Ive looked up my problem else where and have read dozens of posts and websites , but still haven't been able to fix my problem. Here is is , I can not connect to the internet wirelessly , i can configure the Network manager and select the Essid of my network, i put in my password , which is WEP , then i switch it to the automatically configure the IP, and other settings. I would connect to the internet Wired , but the router is 3 floors down. and my parents would be quite annoyed with a wire stretching through the house XD. So i have no connection when i boot up to Ubuntu. BTW im also running vista ultimate , idk if that matters much XD lol. ill check this thread as often as possible to help you guys help me , i Really do want to learn how to use Linux, I just custom built my computer , and am getting a little annoyed with windows, i really don't like macs, they are good computers, just not for me.
So i just wanted a new OS : ) thank you guys in advance ,

Welcome to LQ!!

I looked up the specs on that board--it uses something called "wifi-ap solo". Google finds a lot of hits using "wifi-ap solo linux".

Basically, you have to install a driver....start by searching in the package manager using the name (or maybe just "wifi" or "solo"
