I cant get the knoppix distro to start. I tried the fedora distro and it booted fine but then froze when "probing for new hardware". knoppix has more hardware support and i cant even reach the installation screen!!
Try unplugging all USB devices, as they can occasionally cause problems. If that doesn't work, post your system specs and the exact point Knoppix freezes and maybe someone will be able to help further.
as a matter of fact, it doesnt even freeze at any point it just doesnt start up.
but i have a current installation of fedora on the drive. should i delete that first?
No you shouldn't remove Fedora, you shoujld also consider using less exclamation marks. You have yet to post the exact point that it freezes so don't get back to us until you have that.
