Trouble Debain Install
I am having major problem getting Debain to install.
Things started out OK.
I think i may have screwed up the swap partition (just a guess) - 512Mb logical partition on the same 80 gB HD.
Thing semmed to be goign ok for awhile - Then the install crashed during making a floppy boot disk.
Now when i try to start it over i get "Unable to handle kernel Null pointer deference at virtual address 00000000" and "Bad EIP value."
I tried to run the "rescue" boot install option, but that gave me "VFS: Unable to mount foot fs"
Plus to get it to restart again i have to pull the power cord for a few seconds, other wise it just sits there.
If you cant help me out in any other way, can someone please tell me why when I am installing from a bootable install CD, the HD is causing hangups?
Why can't I just run off the floppy and use it to re-do the partitions?
Thanks in advance
Nevermind
I screwed up the partition table and used Knoppix to fix - useful tool, that Knoppix.
