Tip: One Way to Widen Scrollbar Linux Mint
This is not the only or most sophisticated way, but non-techies like myself may appreciate it.
The scrollbar may be too thin because it is being pushed outside the computer screen by the resolution settings.
Go to Menu --> Display
Even though you may have 1920 X 1080 capability, you can go down in screen resolution to 1680 X 1050 or more, which will pull the scrollbar back into the computer screen making it wider.
Go to Menu --> System Settings --> Accessibility
Another trick is go into accessibility and choose the highest contrast settings in black & white you can find. This will make the scrollbar easier to spot.
I think also
go to System Settings --> General --> Desktop scaling
may work but I have not tried it.
