the utility zip is not in your path


Hi this question has been asked before on this site

But I could not figure it out

I get this error when I try to open this zip file the utility zip is not in your path I tried installing PKZIP but when I downloaded the program for Linux it was an EXE therefore I could not run it does anyone have any suggestions

I need to be able to open a zip file to install my sound driver

do you have the zip package installed, if so did you try :
unzip file.zip ?

Go into Mandrake Control Centre - Software and search for zip in all packages, alphabeticallly selected. It should throw up at least gzip, I think. Choose to install it and slot the required disk in when prompted. That should do it.
