Texlive DVD installation failure - Fedora

Hi,

I have this DVD that has Texlive on it and the files on the DVD does not have any problem. But, when I want to install it on fedora 19 I get this stopping error:

Quote:
# perl install-tl -gui text

Can't locate Pod/Usage.pm in @INC (@INC contains: ./tlpkg /usr/local/lib64/perl5 /usr/local/share/perl5 /usr/lib64/perl5/vendor_perl /usr/share/perl5/vendor_perl /usr/lib64/perl5 /usr/share/perl5 .) at install-tl line 47.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at install-tl line 47.
This is while I have perl5 and the rest of the things on the paths mentioned.

I think the program's in the Fedora repository: if so, that's a better way to install it.

knudfl,
Thanks, you solved my problem as usual.

I installed texlive after installing a couple of other packages, but, my, I seem so dumb in it. How can I make sure?!
Also, there is a bidiTeXmaker-2013r3.tar.bz2 package in it, how should I install it?

# 3 .
"texlive" is 4,600 packages , lots of MB
http://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/fedo...os/Packages/t/
.. Maybe that's why the OP prefers to install from a DVD ?

# 4 .
Don't know what bidiTeXmaker-2013r3.tar.bz2 is ..
https://www.google.com/webhp?hl=all#...013r3.tar.bz2+
? Could be a custom TeXmaker ?
Probably unpack the file to know the content.

Suggest / try # yum install texmaker
.. to watch that only 120 MB packages are installed, if you type `y'
( 216 small texlive packages.)
