"can anyone answer this question?
I use sylpheed claws as my email client. seemed to install correctly. Receive and send emails out fine.
I have several directories under my main mail category however here is the issue.
after the first seven directories the emails don't show when the program is brought up I constantly have to do an update summary then all the emails show but come back as unread. This is a real pain.
I have looked at all the preferences tried several changes and I can't make the other directories work correctly.
The first seven like inbox show all emails which are read and unread. If I take one of the other directories and copy the structure inside say the inbox directory then it works correctly."
sylpheed claws is the unstable version of sylpheed. You have probably encountered a bug in sylpheed. You should take a look at sylpheed bugzilla for a solution or to report the bug if it hasn't already been reported.

If you are unwilling to act as a beta test site for sylpheed then you should install the stable sylpheed.

"I did not have this problem when using sylpheed in debian only now since I moved to FC4."
Debian has a policy of only distributing stable versions of programs. Fedora has a policy of distributing bleeding edge versions of programs.
