Switch Carrier to Unix


Hello All, I am planning to switch my carrier to Unix, can you please suggest where & how do I start?

Now when you say carrier I am thinking of something like carrier frequency and mobile communication. Thinking twice about it, do you actually mean your notebook/laptop with "carrier"? You know, since you carry it around. Please elaborate.

My first thought was carrier as in ISP/network interface, but when I think a bit further 'career' (as in job/career path) seems more likely. Maybe, it is yet another option?
