Unhappy Suse Linux NFS HA Cluster:


Hello,

I am in dire need to solve this problem if there is anyone that can give a fast reply, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you!

I have an NFS Cluster setup, but I cannot get the FS to share from another client or server. Please help!

I keep encountering a problem when i run the following command below:

showmount -e 192.xxx.xxx.xxx

clnt_create: RPC: Port mapper failure - Unable to send: errno 13 (Permission denied)

Have you made sure that the firewall on the server is allowing RPC traffic through on the appropriatye ports?

Usually there is some kind of firewall blocking port 111. You might check for one on the server. If you are using NFSv4 it isn't necessary, but you can't check the status remotely.

One thing that would help is knowing which machine which command was done. You can also do rpcinfo -p <server> on a client, to make sure you can access the portmap on the server from a client.
