SUSE 9.0 installed and updates?

Ok guys I have the SUSE 9.0 up and running. but my biggest pet peeve is the systems hangs after running screensaver, or sleep mode. I have disabled the screen saver and the power settings.

Still the computer hangs because I can tell by the clock is stopped.

Once it showed a cpu overload I hope someone can explain that since I havent seen it again.

The biggest thing is I went to SUSE home page and clicked on downlaodeing bug, patches and ????, I see a long list and am wondering do I need to download every one of those patches on a new installation to fix the "hangs"?

I'm trying to get SUSE technical support but my email address will not recognize on thier registeration system. S**Ks?

So all I have is you to depend on.

Thanks in advance.

I gave up and went back to red hat 9...the long list of SUSE updates was too much and after going thru each one, nothing improved and the system still hangs.

For some strange reason after going back to RH 9, my system is running flawless now. I believe it was installed incorrectly at the beginning from the company I originally bought the server from.

Thanks to all who tried to help. It was much appreciated.

Hello-
I screwed up the settings in Suse 9x and now can't seem to find where they are hidden to change them.
I have looked everywhere that made sense- including power management but not recognized what I thought I was looking for.
This is the sleep and power down of hd etc.
BTW I have been using Suse through 2 versions and NEVER been able to upgrade online.
With a 56k modem and the sleep setting wrong the system shuts down long before I ever get a single thing upgraded.
So I've screwed up that one too.
If you would please point me in the right direction?
Thanks.
