Looks like network problems or misconfiguration on that box. Do you have connectivity to the servers, e.g.
Code:
ping in.archive.ubuntu.com
I can reach this address from home.

I had an unreachable Google yesterday, I think they may have been doing some maintenance, their day time is different to mine.

If this is all you got, then indeed, you have no access to in.archive.ubuntu.com. My guess is that you have no access to the other servers that you could use for updating.

Here is what I get:
Code:
$ ping in.archive.ubuntu.com -c3
PING in.archive.ubuntu.com (91.189.88.162) 56(84) bytes of data.
64 bytes from yukinko.canonical.com (91.189.88.162): icmp_seq=1 ttl=49 time=250 ms
64 bytes from yukinko.canonical.com (91.189.88.162): icmp_seq=2 ttl=49 time=250 ms
64 bytes from yukinko.canonical.com (91.189.88.162): icmp_seq=3 ttl=49 time=250 ms

--- in.archive.ubuntu.com ping statistics ---
3 packets transmitted, 3 received, 0% packet loss, time 1999ms
rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 250.051/250.124/250.203/0.062 ms
Same for pinging IP 91.189.88.152.

Is this server connected to the internet at all?
