Smile Squid Filtering

I have Squid 2.6 and have been filtering websites already setup..when I started.

Last week a blocked URL message appeared on client PC's but part of the website worked. whitepages.com is the website and it used to come up clean...now it does not totally work correctly.

I was wondering if the site added links such as Facebook..etc that are not allowed in our system...does this affect the filtering.

What is the best way to troubleshoot this problem...I'm a Squid Novice!
Thanks!

It's most likely that the site started showing ads that are being blocked. I see this all the time at home where a portion of the screen gets the "blocked" message. I'm running squid (v2.7) and use Shalla blacklists & squidguard.
For me, the logs of what was blocked are in /var/log/squid in log files named for each destination (category) I'm filtering. I believe there are reporting/analysis tools available, but you should be able to "grep" the files (or use the text search/processor of your choice) to find entries from that computer and narrow down by timeframe.

Maybe I misunderstood...What doesn't work correctly? When Squidguard blocks ads for me, the ad area contains my custom "blocked" page instead of the ad, but everything on the site works properly -- the ad is just absent.

Do you have a complex "blocked" page loading scripts & such that might interfere with the page as a whole?
