SQL testing program


I have a winsql program that run on windows to query the data on the databse via ODBC , can advise is there samiliar program that is running on linux ? what I want to use sql command to query the data on the database .

What database do you have on Linux? If MySQL, the online docs are here http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/. There is a cmd line tool http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/programs.html and you can also access it from various langs eg Perl uses DBI.pm http://search.cpan.org/~timb/DBI-1.609/DBI.pm & DBD::mysql.pm http://search.cpan.org/~capttofu/DBD...b/DBD/mysql.pm modules.
Usually part of the std build for Perl on Linux.

the winsql have GUI to type the command and for administration , can advise which of these package have the GUI also ? thx

For mysql, there is phpmyadmin, which is a web based tool for mysql administration.

What do you mean? You are not too clear. Do you want to say you do not use mysql and use ms sql instead?

Found This which you can install on Linux and execute sql commands from Linux.
