when trying to use "checkinstall" instead of "makeinstall" i get no SOURCES directory.
i know it should be /usr/src/redhat/RPMS/i386.. well, under /usr/src i have nothing the src directory is empty. is there anyway to recreate or add the directory ? did i miss a package while i was install Fedora?
well, i tried to do that already, it doesn't work.
i guess its like system directories that have to be constracted by fedora during the installation.
but thanks for your time and if anybody else ran into the same problem or know how to built the source directory please let me know.
WELL, I AM TRING TO COMPILE APACHE 2 FROM THE SOURCE CODE WHEN I WAS GETTING THIS error.
I FOUND SOMEONE ON THE CHECKINSTALL LIST checkinstall-list@asic-linux.com.mx WHO HAD THE SAME PROBLEM .
I WAS MISSING "rpm-build" package..once i installed it "yum install rpm-build" the SOURCE directory was created.
