Lightbulb sound in mandrake 8.1


Hi all!
Doses anyone knows what kould be the problem with my sistem. After i log in to KDE first thing if i want to stup volume i have to go to drakconf and probe for my sound card. Only then i can run kmix corectly otherway it say that there is wrong mixer for my card. I save my config after exiting drakconf but did't help.
Any idea , please help

Err, what card is it? Are you running a stock kernel (i.e. the one that came with Mandrake), or have you compiled your own? A little more info would be appreciated.
