I've got a big problem. I need to install Nvidia drivers but i can't success. I did everything what it says on Nvidia README. I'm using Winfast Geforce FX 5600.
When i run X, i see a bunch of crazy characters on black screen. And when i move mouse, it comes up with white screen. And it locks up !
Please help it's emergency.

uhm.. well that is strange.. (I use nvidia and have sence first public release of any kind of driver)

you d-load the .run and ran it successfully?
you changed the /etc/XF86Config fiel to change nv ot nvidia?
you have correct monitor settings in same file?
is the kernel custom/default/which one/version?
what nvidia driver version/file?
does it work with just nv rather than nvidia (although without 3d accel)
is there an error at the end of /var/log/(whatever the X log file is (Xsomething use ls /var/log/X* to find)
if everything seems in order post the log file
