Have you tried a different mirror to download from, some download sites are like that, takes too long (timed out).
Try to use an ftp site.

I'm a thinkin'

It must be poor internet connection or firewall/browser settings/configuration, I went to mepis site and tried this one:

ftp://ftp-linux.cc.gatech.edu/pub/li...butions/mepis/

And it started downloading (DVD), I'm on dial up. Which operating system/browser did you try from? Woops, got the answer, can't help with Mac Safari.

Well I know nothing about macs or safari, but there is a possibility Murphy's Law is at work. February 10 was the scheduled release date for Mepis 6.0-4. Could be something (how's that for vague?) going on with the mirrors with this addition.

otoh it could be coincidence.

edit/ try to start an ftp transfer of ubuntu
http://www.ubuntu.com/products/GetUb...currentrelease

if that transfer also fails, wait on someone with mac advice. There's a few mac users here.

Or are you having difficulty even reaching this page?

Ah,the problem is Mepis 3.3 is no longer on the mirrors, gotcha.

I can't think of any tools on 3.3 that are not also available on 6.0.

btw a search shows no member grim 322. There is a member grim322 but a search for posts came up empty. Can you link it for us?

A better soloution might be creating another thread stating exactly what you are trying to do. If the machine is a mac be sure to mention that also.
