Simple Question

This is of course a newbie mistake, so here's the situation

I'm getting the hang of slackware 12.2 so far. Well at least I'm learning a lot

I'm installing flash player 10 right. and here it is in my directory.
I extracted it fine

PHP Code:
/home/trnz4mr/Desktop/install_flash_player_10_linux
And here I am in my konsol

PHP Code:
trnz4mr@iamaslacker:~$ cd /home/trnz4mr/Desktop
trnz4mr
@iamaslacker:~/Desktop$ ./flashplayer-installer
-bash: ./flashplayer-installerNo such file or directory
But the file is right there!!!!!

What's going on?

try running a

ls -l install_flash_player_10_linux

while in the directory. Make sure that the file has the executable flag on the permissions. If it does not then run a

chmod u+x install_flash_player_10_linux

then it should run fine.

Also isn't the name of the file install_flash_player_10_linux and not flashplayer-installer?

Well if the flashplayer-installer is what was extracted, then yea check that it has that executable flag by running a

ls -l

command. Also, you may have to run the program with the sudo command or as root.

so

sudo ./flashplayer-installer

or

su then type root password
then run program again with
./flashplayer-installer

You're not in the right directory /home/trnz4mr/Desktop/install_flash_player_10_linux
but in /home/trnz4mr/Desktop .... flashplayer-installer doesn't live there, hence the
message suggesting that it can't be found. Easy as pie.
