ive just downloaded a ppd file for my Epson C41UX printer....
i already downloaded 2 ppd files from linuxprinting.org...
its a gimp-print file and the other one is gimp-print-ijs....
i copied the files on the cups/model/ directory and i was able to make it
appear in the cups printer list when i access cups in any of my web browser.... the problem is..... whenever i print using any of my downloaded driver (gimp-print and/or gimp-print-ijs)..... it doesnt print....
but when i change my printer driver to Epson C40UX (its already included in the CUPS Printer list; i didnt download this driver)... it prints perfectly....
why is it not printing when i use the Epson C41UX which i downloaded?
please help? what should i really do first to make this thing or the ppd files work properly? it appears in the printer list so maybe there is no problem at all? am i right? please help.... thank you very much

Rep:
Look in /etc/cups/ppd, is the PPD file there? Look at
/etc/cups/printers.conf, are there differences between the two
printers? Differences should probably occur, but make sure there
is nothing wrong with the C41UX entry.
Did you restart the CUPS daemon (cupsd) after installing the
new printer?
Try setting the C41UX printer to be a file, and take a look at the
output from a test page.
Another possibility is that the PPD isn't correct for CUPS. Most
of the PPDs that I've used with CUPS have some nonstandard
entries (mostly concerning filters), and I guess if your PPD
doesn't have the necessary entries, it won't work. Try comparing
your C40UX PPD and the C41UX PPD and look for obvious
references to CUPS or Easy Software. . .
