similarity between Xen and XenServer

Hi Everyone,

I'm still new to Linux world. Recently, I'm interested in virtualizataion for my home server project (for media playback and NAS application).

I tried Oracle VirtualBox (windows host, no auto start)VMWare EXi5.5 (poor support for my NIC), then tried XenServer 6.2 (hard to figure out how to VGA passthrough), and recently into Xen.

I have managed to passthrough VGA and audio devices to xen-pciback in Xen (Debian Wheezy), but I had difficulty to configure and diagnose .cfg file. It would be nice to have XenCenter GUI in XenServer environment.

I just wonder if I applied the same method that I used to passthrough VGA and audio devices, to XenServer6.2, will it work?

Can I use the same script in init.d to bind and unbind device, same script in /etc/initramfs-tools/modules to load pciback module? How similar are they between xen and Xenserver?

Thanks for you time!

Jason
