k, so put adds.tgz on a floppy

then in linux do

mount /dev/fd0 (or whatever your floppy device is)

then do

cp /mnt/fd0/adds.tgz ~/adds.tgz

simple as that.

you may have to be root to do the mount.

mount -t auto /dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy

But you could have found that from a quick search in this forum or on Google

Thanks very much I did try mount -t auto/dev/fd0/mnt/floppy but got the prompt so thought it was the msdos disk and needed to view via folder so try mount/dev/fd0...prompt...so created folder under mnt called floppy..prompt

gave up and installed caldera..during install it said xf86setup needed to be detailed and recommended I do this later...install went fine...log in enter password..get prompt..

NEXT QUESTION..how do I access xf86setup to get x to run...

thanks for the other will reinstall on the other machine later..any on the vid card...it's advance logic..does better than 256..should I use a 256color card and reinstall..

Add a note here that I tried four cards non were in the list and non worked with the genericvga selection under xf86setup so i'm done..
