show/hide windows icon in Ubuntu 11.10

I am using ubuntu 11.10 and can't find an icon or button to show or hide all open windows
Control+Alt+D works, but is there a button available?

There is none in Unit 2d or 3d. You must use either Avant Window Navigator or

1. sudo apt-get install wmctrl

Download widget
wget http://webupd8.googlecode.com/files/showdesktop.tar.gz
tar -xvf showdesktop.tar.gz && rm showdesktop.tar.gz
sudo mv showdesktop /usr/local/bin/

Good Luck.

Looks Like either way u have to download file.

sudo apt-cache search filename ... (this will give the exact .deb package name)

Good morning claterout
I installed (succesfully) showdesktop (awn-applet-showdesktop-0.4.1~bzr1507-0ubuntu1-i386.deb) but I don't know how to use it to show/hide desktop windows, no icon is shown. during installation an icon appeared momentarily but then it was gone.
