Should I delete infected(?) Windows ME OS before installing Linux?

It looks like my Windows ME OS is infected. In any case, it is unuseable. Should I delete ME from my computer before installing Linux? I don't anticipate using Windows again, in any case. And how would I delete Windows ME?

Thank you,

genyes

Don't worry. When you install your chosen distribution just delete all of the partitions. None of the data will be left accessible on the drive.

Install Linux. Mount the windows drive. Scan with f-prot and remove viruses It works, because viruses are not running the infected programs, and can be deleted or cured.

Peace!

Even if you keep windows, delete ME and install XP, ME is the glitchiest shortest lived version of windows ever, and M$'s worst idea ever!
