Cool sendmail - deferred: localhost connection timeout

i am using sendmail with outlook express .when i try to send a mail ,it accepts to deliver but within a time period it diplays this error

Deferred : localhost connection timeout

can anyone help me to sort out this problem.

could you explain how you think you are using sendmail with outlook express?
AFAIK outlook express runs under windows (or admittedly, wine) and only talks POP3. Do you have a linux server running a POP3 server?
