Run Firefox with a YouTube clip on 128 MB RAM Debian?
Hey,
I'm a Linux rookie so please explain things to me like I would be five. Please don't question why I want to watch a YouTube clip on a Debian server.
The server runs Debian 6 and I currently have root access in the terminal. That's all I got. No GUI just an idling server. What do I need in order to play a YouTube clip on the server?
do you have graphical frontend (gui) at all? If not you will need to install X and at least a player. Firefox is probably not required.
Hey, I don't have a GUI. I need to visit a website at the same time as the YouTube clip is playing. Since I only have 128 MB RAM I would need a very lightweight GUI, do you have any recommendations?

it would be tricky, but if you can activate your framebuffer console (either a vga= or gfxpayload= in your grub.conf), you can use link2 and vlc in a frabebuffer console..
