Rpm help

Hello,

well im following a guide on how to compile wine yourself for best performance on your pc.

Im following this walkthrough provided by linux gamers.net

Im at part three where im supposed to download the wine source code. Only problem is i can only find the src.rpm file which i do not know how to extract the files from?

any help is appreciated

Try "rpm -ivh <.src rpm name>" and then look for the source where rpm puts it.

Before you do the "rpm -i <..>", try a "rpm -qlf <..>" to list the rpm contents -- that might give you a clue as to where rpm is going to put the source code.

Also "info rpm" will give you more than you want to know about rpm and its options.
