rpm -e kdemultimedia kdeaddons

Just installed FC3
updated the kernel.
I got no sound.
I was looking around on the internet to find a fix to this.
I was told to run rpm -e kdemultimedia kdeaddons However this had not effect.

I later fixed the problem myself.
Would i of hurt my system by runniung rpm -e kdemultimedia kdeaddons as root?
i use KDE all the time as my desktop manager.

The commands
rpm -e kdemultimedia kdeaddons
removes two packages, kdemultimedia and kdeaddons. This is only harmful if you happen to want to use one of the two packages. If you want to use either kdemultimedia or kdeaddons then install it again.
