Question Ripping Original DVD

Hi guys. Tried to reap an original dvd but it said "All required applications and libraries are not installed".
"Please install the following manually and try again:
libdvdcss.so.2 (library)
libdvdcss.so.2 (library)"

Please help guys. How do I go about this.,

Try installing libdvdcss2 like the message is advising you to do.

libdvdcss is the decoder that allows you to access css-encrypted commercial dvds. It's legality is dubious in some areas though.

By the way, it usually helps to post ALL the relevant information about your problem, such as the distribution you're using, the program you're using and the exact commands you've tried. I suggest reading the first link below in my sig. ↓

Sorry for not giving all the info guys, but thanks a million for the response. I am using ubuntu 10.04 and tried ripping using the Brasero Disk Burner. It obviously didn't work for me. Being a newbie, I had not even tried any commands whatsoever. I am a novice at this stuff guys, so I hope you'll be patient as I learn more.

Don't worry about it. First time posters get a little slack. But the clearer you can frame the problem, the better the quality of reply you'll get.

So I take it the answers worked for you? In that case follow the advice in the rest of my sig and mark the thread as solved.

And I suggest you add your distro to your profile information so everyone can see it at a glance.
