What distro is installed on the partition?
I am assuming you're using Mandrake 2007.0 Free as a rescue disk, at least that's what I read into your post.

This is a public forum, please post your answers, comments, etc. -- do not use e-mail.
The idea is to create an archived record of problems & solutions that others can use. E-mail, which is private, defeats this goal.
