You can download the fedora 19 installer with a 3.9.0 kernel here. Is there any reason to use such an old version?

Actually I want to edit my fedora dvd and I have some packages that would run on 2.6.34 kernel.. thats why...
I just want to know how to replace the kernel in the dvd

Or,
It will work for me if you can tell me how to upgrade kernel in post installation script in kickstart
using command like this yum upgarde -y kernel

I don't know about yum commands but in a deb-based system it would be
Code:
apt-get install linux-image-<name of kernel>
jdk

kernel-2.6.33.3-85.fc13.x86_64.rpm

Fedora 13 is DEAD AND UNSUPPORTED !!!
DO NOT USE IT !!!

install the current fedora 19
USING the fedora 19 dvd !!

fedora 13 is dead
you do NOT rebuild the iso image using a dead OS

I'd guess you'd need to make a modified dvd image. Usually there are a few ways to do that. One is to reverse how the dvd was created initially. That is to put everything on some build environment and then make dvd. Another is to possibly mount the image in a read write then edit the file. In some cases you may have some other installer issues. Lastly may be that there is an app that can modify and create custom spins.

yum upgrade -y kernel is not working in %post section of the kickstart file that usually work in terminal....... My question is how can I upgrade my kernel at the time of installation of fedora.. I know there is a tool like revisor to create custom spin but this is full of bug, I've tried it and this project is currently dead..

Quote:
yum upgrade -y kernel
will NEVER work
the fedora 13 and 14 os repos are basically dead
a few are still around but have not been updated since fedora 13 went End Of Life

the LAST UPDATE FEDORA 13 HAD included
kernel-2.6.33.3-85.fc13.x86_64.rpm

if you MUST USE the very specific version 2.6.34

build the kernel
and include the fedora 13 AND 14 patches

fedora 14 's LAST update hade
kernel-2.6.35.6-45.fc14.x86_64.rpm

see the problem
kernel-2.6.33
to
kernel-2.6.35

you CAN NOT !!!!!!!
use yum
there is NO way to use it to "update" or " upgrade" to THAT KERNEL

fedora 13 and 14 are BOTH unsupported
you might as well REMOVE yum on that fedora 13 iso
you will NEVER be able to use it
