Wink Regarding Class Devices

Can anyone explain why these class devices concept used?
I have gone thru sysfs system...........in this
/sys/
/bus
/module
/devices

these /bus is a subsystem in the subsystem we can create Kobjets.

In the tree /sys/bus/i2c in bus we r having Devices and Drivers.

But i have seen that /sys/class/i2c-adapter but why we need class?

we can use /sys/bus/i2c rather than /sys/class?
And can any one give the example for classes?

i2c-adapters are a class of device. They are not connected by the i2c bus (in fact, they are normally the endpoint of the bus).
