Hey guys.
I have an on board AC97 sound card.
and just like everything else, works with a driver that came with me redhat 9.
but, it is seriously slowing down my system.
when i run unreal tournament, im getting about 35 frames per second with all detail settings on max, but only if i run the game with the -nosound argument.
if i run with sound, i get sumhing like 5 frames per second.
im thinking proper linux drivers for the sound card would help, the nvidia drivers are 10 times faster than the one thats provided on linux disk.
does any1 know where i can find such a driver. thanX
sound works, but the driver is provided by red hat is too crap basically, i need a good 1.
E.G. my GeForce 4 worked..... but the drivers were crap. i got good drivers from nvidia.com
my sound works, but the drivers are crap, i mean reeeealy crap, they half my frame rates !
and i need to know where i can get a good driver from, And how to se the system to use this new driver,, i.e, what config files do i need to update, E.G. for nvidia, i hade to edit my XF86Config
