Angry red hat 7.3 boot failed

I have recently tried to install red hat 7.3 and finished the installation leving my system with a 20gb partition(ntfs) for windows and swap(1gb), and main linux.

During the installation i chose not to use lilo or grub and finished the install without them.

i then insert the boot floppy and reboot, all that happens is that the floppy clicks for a minute and then says boot failed.

i am using a external floppy drive.

Do i need to make a boot loader and if so could someone help me do so.

thanks
