quicktime mov files

Hi,

I am new to linux, and want to watch the new 'Lord of the Rings: The Tow Towers' on my new mandrake installation.

I can only find a copy available in Apple QuickTime format. Is there a player that will play Quicktime .mov files?

I have discoverd that MPlayer will play them if Wine is installed with the the appropriate codecs, but configuring Wine seems like a bit of a mission.

Is there a simpler player option I am missing here?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Regards,
Mark

P.S. Thanks heaps to the list for helping with my swap partition problem. I am now happilly running a new swap file, and my machine chugs away nicely - much appreciated LinuxQuestions!

you don't need wnie anymore for mplayer, that was only for a week or so. i think they have the new method on their site somehwere know. afaik mplayer is the ONLY open source player able to deal with quicktime. and before you think about posting on their list abuot that trailer, search their archive. there are so many people asking about it and not bothering to try to read other peoples posts.
