Questions (remote control & mount --bind)

eh up..

I've got the minimal installation of Suse going on with just the command line, and what I want to do is.....................

1. make a shortcut (or whatever you call them in linux) in a certain folder.. I used this command, but on restart the shortcut is lost..
>>>>>>>>>>>>>.

mount --bind /usr/local/httpd/ /home/daniel

(or something like that..)

how can I make this shortcut stay there all the time?

2. when I was at work I used to dial into command line linux boxes from windows with a program called 'reflection' and I could then control that box via my windows machine.... (a bit like VNC or PcAnyWhere..) anyway.... what sort of programs will allow me to do the same sort of thing????? and where can I get them from for freeeeeeee???

oh yeah.....

3. how do I set up a hostname... so instead of going to http://192.168.0.3 I can go to say--- http://linuxbox

thankz a lot dudez...........werd to ya momz and all that good stufF!

as for shortcut put the mount command you wrote into /etc/fstab, or make a symbolic link to that file,
2.there is vnc package available for linux, try http://freshmeat.net and I believe suse supports rpms, so go to http://rpmfind.net , there are vnc rpms for different platforms choose the right one.
3. edit your /etc/hosts file
IP hostdomain host
