question netstat command

OK. This is something that's bugging me. When I use the netstat command sometimes I get results and sometimes I don't. I'm behind a router using 2 computers hooked up on broadband.
Sometimes when I use netstat command it gives me all correct information. But other times I get nothing. I'm wondering is it because of a DNS resolve issue slowing things down? Maybe my router is slow in DNS resolving? Or maybe this is normal. I know it's not the end of the world but when I use the netstat command I want immediate results. Anyway. Any ideas would be welcome! Thanks!

Try disabling name resolution with -n:
netstat -an
