pxe server


Hi,
Can I put windows images on a pxe server running some version of linux?

Sure - pxe is just a protocol.

But of course you'd be happier if all your boot images were Linux boot images :-)

Does anyone have a pxe server set up, that could guide me in the right direction? I was using ubuntu server, could I put widow images on that server?

a windows image?
i'm going to guess and assume you want to install windows on to a machine that you have pxe booted. Well you won't be doing this with non Microsoft software.
Microsoft being who they are like to keep everything to themselves. They want you to use something called RIS (Remote Installation Server).
I've found this page which details how to setup windows 2000 server as a RIS.

If this is not what your trying to do then please provide some more info and i'm sure someone could think up some method to achive what you are trying.
