Putty / SSH Problem on Mandrake 10.0

I'm trying to connect from a Windows XP Pro box using the Putty client to a Mandrake 10.0 box. sshd is installed and running, but when I try to connect using Putty and ssh, I get a blank screen that closes after a few seconds. When I look in the /var/log/auth.log, I see an entry that says: refused connect from ::ffff:192.168.1.103 (::ffff:192.168.1.103)
(Note: I'm trying to connect from 192.168.1.103). What do I need to do to set this up properly? I have the Mandrake firewall set to Everything (no firewall), so I don't think that's the problem. A related note in case it's useful. I don't seem to be able to ping the Mandrake box from the Linux box. But I've got numerous networking apps running properly (like Samba) so there is connectivity. --Jeff

the Solution

I discovered the problem after getting ssh to produce detailed debugging logs and noting that the connection was refused by tcp wrapper. I needed to add entries in the /etc/hosts.allow file to permit access from my lan.
