Unhappy Puppy Linux / unetbootin problem

I'm trying to install slacko-5.4-firefox-4g.iso with unetbootin-windows-583 and I get this message after restarting the laptop

invalid boot.ini file
booting from windows

It matters not whether I go for the HDD or USB option, the message is the same.
I altered the boot sequence to boot from the appropriate device in each case.

Must be doing something wrong but I don't know what. Any Ideas?
Thanks

Have you downloaded the slacko.iso with unetbootin and used unetbootin to create the bootable flash drive and when you reboot the flash you get the error? The boot.ini file is on windows so I don't see how you could get that message from the unetbootin flash drive as it uses syslinux to boot.

Thanks for the reply.

"Have you downloaded the slacko.iso with unetbootin and used unetbootin to create the bootable flash drive and when you reboot the flash you get the error?" Yes.

But I have since discovered that there was an uncompression error
Still trying to get a checksum program working in windows though.
Going to download the Puppy again and re-install it. asap
