This doesnt happen always, but sometimes after booting the touchpad wont work, cursor move on its own and it is unresponsive. After running "dmesg | grep -i elantech" (which i found online and im not sure what it does) i get this:
Code:
[ 3.363796] psmouse serio2: elantech: assuming hardware version 3 (with firmware version 0x254f00)
[ 3.568115] psmouse serio2: elantech: elantech_send_cmd query 0x02 failed.
[ 3.568121] psmouse serio2: elantech: failed to query capabilities.
[ 3.875618] input: PS/2 Elantech Touchpad as /devices/platform/i8042/serio2/input/input11
I also noticed that under Input Devices on System Settings it says that there is no touchpad, and it recognizes it as a mouse, so i cant use multitouch. Any help is appreciated.
the output couldn't be clearer, you have an elantech touchpad, not the (much more common) synaptic type.
this was apparent already in post #1, but not clear enough for my taste.
anyhow, a search like this should get you going (kde neon is ubuntu-based).
