Problems with alsa drivers and sound

Hi everyone, I am having a problem getting the sound to work. Basically, I just upgraded my kernel to 2.6.10, and had the alsa drivers installed as a module (emu10k1) so it could run my soundblaster audigy mp3+. Now when I boot up, not only do I get no sound, but my sound modules do not load up. There is no soundcore or anything like that. As of now all I see is snd_util_mem. I used to see a few others, but after changing the config, I see only that. I have no idea where to go from here. Can someone help me out please?

try
Code:
alsaconf
if it doesn't detect your sound card, recompile alsa by downloading the latest version of alsa-lib, alsa-utils, and alsa-driver
