Trouble installing LFTP
Hey everyone, this is my first time here but you can plan on seeing alot more of me because I have just barely the faintest idea of what Im doing when it comes to linux. Im really eager to learn though.
Anyway, I just installed linux yesterday, this being my second time. My first time was in a class I took in school and we had to install red hat. Mandrake really makes the task much easier
Well, Ive now been trying to download an ftp client so I can upload to my server. Being so new to this, it took me a minute to figure out how to unzip the compressed file. But I finally got it figured out and now I can't intsall it.
I read the directions, but they arent working for me. Im only 2 steps into it. First it tells me to go to the directory in which the 'configure' file is. Ok, piece of cake, I alread know the 'cd' command. Then it tells me to type './configure' to configure the packages for the system. This is the problem so far. When I type that, I get: "no such file". I check the file using the window and Im looking right at a file thats called 'configure'.
And thats about it. I dont know what more to ask and I have no idea myself. I would be really greatful if you could help me on this. Thanks
