printing and hard drive help

Before i go into wut i need help with, i would like to thank all the people who spend time helping NEWBIE like me out. you guys are making a difference.

OS: Red Hat 9.0
Intel Pentium 3 450mhz

1st problem: i cannot seem to get my printer to work. i have a HP DESKJET 520. i tried using the default printing tool but it says it cannot detect a printer. Then i downloaded HPIJS software drivers and installed it, but don't know how to make it work. CAn anyone help me with this?

2nd problem: i have a extra hard drive with important data but i can't seem to access it(meaning its not being mounted). The other drive is a windows2000 NTFS partition. I am totally lost on how to go about doing this one.

Thats it.. thank you to whoever happens to read this and thanks to those who can provide answers for me.

Set up samba to allow access to a windows machine files...

But this is a big task your going to take on setting up samba would also allow you to access the printer through the network....

If your not that network sound with Windows 2000 server or products your in for a long haul...

Good Luck.......

Just remember that the candle may burn out before learning all about Sambas setup....

Later.......

Redhat does not include NTFS support in the default install.

To add support:
http://linux-ntfs.sourceforge.net/info/redhat.html

This will be read only. Writing to NTFS is still experimental and not recommended. If you need help on mounting and add an entry in the /etc/fstab file just search this site. There are tons of posts on the subject.
