print job spools out but does not initiate print function
Added a HP laserjet 1320 pCL6 to Linux Box linux 7.10 gnu Ubuntu. Printing from Gedit or Firefox spools out to the LJ and the printer sits there with the light Blinking. If I punch the button, the print funcion initiates and completes.
Any help tendered will be greatly appreciated.

Check your printers setting whether or not it has a way
to enforce a form feed. I guess that's what's missing.

Let me rephrase the question. How do I check and adjust printer settings in Linux?

Can't tell you how it's done in Ubuntu, don't use Gnome, and am
not sure that ubuntu enables cups' web-interface by default; you
can try to navigate to http://localhost:631/printers/ ....
Cheers,
Tink

Does the printers "Configure Printer" button bring up any
settings pertaining to form feeds? Also I don't know what
the green button on your printer does - it wouldn't be a
power button by any chance?

No, Not a power button. There is a light with a triangle enclosing an exclamation point that blinks when the print job is ready to print and there is a green button with a similar inscription that starts the printout when depresses. I think that green button will also initiate a test page if there is no print job in the spool.
